Concussed

Eek! I haven’t posted since September 10th? Good lord, I guess life has been a little busier than I thought.

Anyway, I had big plans for a post today, but unfortunately I got hit in the head on Saturday and have a concussion. I’m still pretty symptomatic, especially when it comes to reading/writing/concentrating (this is making me nauseous as we speak), so unfortunately this is all you’re getting today. The only way to help a concussion is with brain rest, so I’ll be staying away from the blog until my brain feels a bit better. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a wonderful day/week, and remember, take care of your noggin. You only get one brain, after all!

  1. Concussions are never fun ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I see you are an ATC, which should put you ahead of the curve for knowing the dos and don’ts (am a CAT(c) – the Canadian equivalent to an ATC)! Rest up, and when you can tolerate reading on the computer more, look into Shift Concussions (www.shiftconcussions.ca) and research coming out of UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program (http://www.upmc.com/services/sports-medicine/services/concussion/pages/default.aspx). There are so many more options than just rest for treating concussions, with strong research backing it up!

    • Yes thank you! I just wanted to give my brain full rest while my symptoms were still elevated — I have added in some light exercise as they have decreased significantly at this point. And I agree – there are things that seem promising to help with concussion recovery, it doesn’t have to be just rest anymore!
