Stephanie d’Orsay MS, LAT, ATC, CSCS
Hi there! I am a certified athletic trainer (ATC) in Boston (for those of you who aren’t familiar with this profession, you can read more about it here), and have my MS in Applied Nutrition. I am also a CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, or NSCA. I started this blog in early 2012 as an outlet to share my passion for good food, nutrition, strength training, and all things health related. My fascination with food and nutrition began in a very unhealthy way when I battled disordered eating habits for several years from the tail end of high school through the first couple years of college. Ironically or not, that was also the time when I was at my heaviest, and most unhealthy.
Once I was able to work through my food issues with help from those around me, I found a passion for the healthy side of food, and I haven’t looked back since. Over the past four to five years, I have begun a new lifestyle of eating clean, fresh, delicious whole foods as much as possible. I have also stepped up my training regimen and have converted to the world of heavy lifting. I’m now at the strongest and healthiest I’ve ever been, although I know that I still have a lot of work to do. This blog is my way of sharing my experience and knowledge as it pertains to strength training, nutrition, and overall wellness.
I am not an expert, I am not a fitness model, I am not a figure competitor, I am not a power lifter, I am not a Registered Dietician. I AM a lover of food, endlessly curious about nutrition and health, a strength-training enthusiast, and a positive thinker who is on a search for the keys to health and overall happiness.
